Q: What time do I need to be at the hospital for surgery?

A: The hospital will call you after 2pm the day before to give you your check in time (if Monday, then they will call Friday).

Q: How much will the surgery cost?

A: Our billing office will give you the surgeons approximate cost only. We will provide you with a billing code (CPT code) for your particular operation. It is your responsibility to speak with the hospitals patient financial services and the anesthesia billing services to get the total amount that your operation will cost.

Q: What if I need to cancel surgery due to an unforeseen circumstance?

A: We ask that you call our office to cancel the surgery at least 24 hours in advance.

Q: Do I need a referral for a surgeon?

A: All insurance companies have different requirements for referrals. It is the patients responsibility to know if your particular insurance company requires a referral.

Q: How soon do I need a follow up after my operation?

A: We would like you to come and see your surgeon for a follow up appointment 7-10 days after your operation unless otherwise directed.

Q: What if I have questions that were not addressed in my initial consultation?

A: You can call our office any time Monday through Friday to speak with our Medical Assistant. If the Medical Assistant can not answer your questions, he/she will contact your surgeon for you and get an answer as quickly as possible.

Q: What do I do if I am experiencing more pain than I think is normal, after my surgery?

A: Call our office immediately and speak with the Medical Assistant.

Q: What if I run out of pain medicine or any other medication that my surgeon has provided for me?

A: The Medical assistant takes medication refill requests Monday through Thursday. This can take up to 24 hours because the patients physician must be contacted before a refill can be granted. If a request is made on Friday, the Medical Assistant will do her/his best to contact the physician to grant that request.
